When I was young and my family would hop into our '51 Ford for a roadtrip, I would squeeze into the back seat with my 2 older brothers armed with our comics and we would trade and bicker and carry on and then every once in awhile my mother would reach around through the cigarette haze and backhand all 3 of us at once. Since then I've continued on and today I'm proud to have seen and been through many changes, some of which are reflected here in my pages. Many of my beliefs are contrary to those of my cherished friends and so I say that they are just this, my opinions which are given in the spirit of openness, rather than to in any way alienate those who would come here. Lastly, if you don't click on everything you see, you're missing out on the best part, so try to slow down and enjoy. Blow up the screen, crank up the volume and welcome to my world :-)

Infamous guerilla artist Banksy has joined the anti-plastic bag campaign with a new painting in North London. Many UK retailers have decided to stop giving away free plastic bags to their customers in a bid to try and curb their impact on the environment. Banksy's newest piece appeared on the wall of an Islington pharmacy overnight with the owner saying how pleased he was that Banksy had chosen his wall: "I am absolutely delighted - I think it's just fantastic," Unfortunately the shopkeeper didn't seem to share Banksy's message, focussing more on the pricetag his wall now may have: "I've heard how much these works can go for."

The Triathlon
A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together.Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'To which, his father said 'Yes' too. For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of

* And ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along
the coast of the Big Island .
Father and son went on to complete the race together. View this race on the link .....

Life After People
Incredible video . . very long, but hey. Put on by the History channel, a fine projection into a hypothetical future, following a thread which remarkably parallels the Iowa floods . . California wildfires, Tsunami and of course the threat of destruction by nuclear war . . . I was even visited at one point by Sodom, and Gamorrah, allegorically, that is

my pal priss
Not only did I forget her birthday, but it was her 65th . . seen today, inside of her place in La Jolla, a decadently funky throwback to maybe, the thirties. . . with her God daughter, Yvette, below. Mary and I went to high school together and I used to sneak around with her b-friend Johnny when we were in eleventh grade, till one day she pulled up next to us in the fast lane of the Ventura freeway where he was annointing my 16 year old neck with his 15 inch tongue in the back seat. . . and so we were busted. Fast forward to Beatles era, when she divorced him (ahem), the start of her modeling career and a fast life, that took her from the west coast, to the Big Apple, Bangkok, Katmandu, Copenhagen, England, Nassau, Amsterdam, Bali . . she lived all over the place while I was raising Yvette in the valley. Through it all, we never lost contact and looking back, Mary vividly personifies the transition that took place between the 50's and today. My photographs only go back to post high school days, but there's earlier stuff, and even back then, I could see something that stood out in her. . for sure, there were some wild times during those years which totally derailed any academic aspirations I may have had before hooking up with Mary, John, Ingrid and Jess,"The Group". Last pic to right was taken in the 70's and in my sadly un solicited opinion, il- luminates the Vietnam era just as neatly as the famous Mendonsa V-J Day Kiss did portray the end of Wld War II. It hung in a SoHo gallery for about a year, showcasing Bill Stone's exquisite work, before he went on to do the early Madonna nudes, in 1978.
Haven't been to the west coast lately and I realize now that I've taken this gem of a friend so for granted... funny beyond words, totally cool in every way, her cult poster which hangs in the personal galleries of the likes of Helen Gurley Brown and Malcomb Forbes, inhabits a dark corner of her little place, drying up, tearing with age and nearly forgotten . . I grabbed my camera and knew that I had to bring it back to su, for no longer is there a cover of LIFE, which is where it belongs . . and so, Happy 65th, gb

SOME EXCELLENT DYLAN VIDS ON THIS LINK, WELL PRODUCED. IT'S BEEN SAID THAT AGE HAS BEEN UNKIND TO HIM BUT YOU COULDN'T PROVE IT BY ME. THE UNFAILING INTEGRITY HE GIVES TO HIS MUSIC AND THE INDUSTRY IS A FOUNDATION THAT HE'S NEVER STRAYED FROM IN ALL OF THESE YEARS . . NOT EVER, THAT I CAN SEE AND WHEN I LOOK AT HIM PAST HIS PHYSICAL PRIME, I'M FILLED WITH AWE AND WONDER AT HIS VULNERABLILITY

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." ayn rand (courtesy of PaleRyder)
